When recording your music with a live microphone, turn up the pre-amp gain a little louder than you usually would and listen for any noises, buzzes, or anything you do not want in the in recorded track.
Sometimes you will hear things like a TV on in another room, your air conditioning, a ceiling fan on and etc. Then turn the gain back down to the appropriate level and start recording. Microphones are more sensitive than you think. You will be surprised what you can find hidden in your recordings.
